WHY
Lifestyle changes are one of the hardest things a person can do and for so many are the keys to better quality of life and a longer life.
Life is not put on hold when people are trying to make a change and the support a person has is vital to their ability to change their habits.
HOW
The course worked for new and existing health coaches and with a mindset of ‘What’s important for the coach’. Engagement and learning occur best in environments of curiosity and celebration.
We explored models, theories and approaches from multiple sciences and disciplines to build on participants existing knowledge.
Providing a safe space to discuss and practice how to make the theory work in practice we gave opportunities to practice in pairs and small groups.
WHAT
Health coaches were given the tools, skills and mindset to unlock lifestyle changes and improve people’s lives.
Health Coaches were connected with peers, fostering friendships and growing a support network, with continued access to our facilitators.
The course developed coaches’ communication skills, understanding of behaviour change models and skills of motivational interviewing, with space to practice these new approaches and receive vital feedback.
Health Coaches gained confidence, resources, and methodologies.
“I was surprised by how interesting and useful it was to my role. The course has given me lots of ideas of how I can do health coaching in group sessions with fresh enthusiasm”
